In 2014, we launched Lattice, a new way to discover and curate the 200 million searchable images on PhotoShelter. We believed that Lattice would help buyers find unique imagery and give us a new way to drive traffic to your work. However, creating new products is not only about building but also learning.
We learned a lot with Lattice, but our biggest learning was that a social curation experience isn’t the best way we can help you be successful. After product experimentation, helpful user feedback and almost nine years in the market, we’ve made the choice to sunset Lattice. Eliminating features that you and your audience aren't using anymore helps our team focus on improving the tools you rely on every day.
Lattice will shut down effective July 6, 2023. At that time, access to Lattice Boards will stop, but potential buyers will still be able to search public images on get.photoshelter.com and click through to your website. The removal of Lattice will not affect your data or website.
What was Lattice?
Lattice was our first major feature release in a series of efforts to help the photo community discover images on PhotoShelter. Launched in 2014, it served as our primary search and discovery tool for photographers and photo buyers.
Why are we deprecating this product?
We learned a lot with Lattice, but our biggest learning was that a social curation experience isn’t the best way we can help you be successful. After product experimentation, helpful user feedback and almost nine years in the market, we’ve made the difficult choice to sunset the Lattice platform.
When will Lattice be deprecated?
Lattice will shut down effective July 6, 2023. At that time, access to Lattice Boards will stop, but potential buyers will still be able to search public images on get.photoshelter.com and click through to your website.
What will happen to my existing Lattice boards?
Existing Lattice boards will be removed, as will the option to create new Lattice boards. This means that you will no longer be able to add images to an existing board or create a new board.
Can I save images on an existing Lattice board before the feature is deprecated?
We recommend contacting the photographer to request access to any images you’d like to save. You can also add images to a Lightbox via a photographer’s website.
Can photo buyers still search for my images on PhotoShelter?
Yes. If your images are public and marked searchable, photo buyers and other site visitors can use the general search on get.photoshelter.com to search for images using keywords. They’ll also be able to add images to their cart (if they’re priced for sale) or add an image to their Lightbox.
