Subscription service
Is it possible set up a subscription service accessed through password? If so is it possible to set download limits? I'm thinking of creating one huge gallery with all the images I want to offer setting up a unique password for each user. can users pay their subscription fee online?

PhotoShelter doesn't offer a recurring subscription service currently; at the moment sales are by individual prints or downloads. If you are able to collect your subscription payment by other means, it is possible to create user accounts to access private galleries, and you can also set download limits preventing users for downloading more than a set number of images in total.
To set access permissions for a gallery, click on the blue cog in the right hand column with the gallery selected, and you can add the email addresses of all the people who will be able to access your gallery, along with the maximum resolution and the maximum number of images they can download. They can then set up a PhotoShelter account and when logged in will be able to access your gallery and download images up to the maximum you have specified. The only slight flaw with this is that the download maximum isn't reset automatically, so you will have to manually remove the limit and re-apply it when their subscription is renewed.

Thanks Nick
When I set a download limit it does not seem to reduce. For example, if I set the limit at 1 I can actually carry on downloading single images seemingly without any limit being reached. When I go back in the total download limit still shows as 1. It does not godown to 0.

Thanks Nick
I am logging in as a visitor after logging out of my account. I have set the max at 1 ( for my wife using here email and log in) but I can download as many as aI want.
I also experimented with the password log-in system and that seemed to allow unlimited downloads from all galleries!
What I want to be able to do is set a download limit of say 50. The user should not be able to download more than 50 images.
And if the number doesn't reduce how do I know when to reset and how many images they have downloaded?

Ok, I'm not sure if this is the tool you need. I'd suggest contacting PhotoShelter directly on support@photoshelter.com to see if they can help.
