    Jonathan,

I recall we found this happening a few years ago and PS fixed it then. It's possible that you have reported this directly as a fault or they have spotted your question but I have just downloaded resized files from two of my galleries and the correct Abode 1998 profile was attached?

    Thanks Tom,

That’s very odd - are you sure you re-sized using one of the PS re-sizing options?
E.g Add to Lightbox then download a smaller jpeg from the Lightbox, or use Quick Send with a re-sizing option selected?
I’ve tested again and for me the original file downloads fine with the profile intact but any of the options above strip out the profile.
Yes, I have contacted Support and they have confirmed this to be “expected behaviour” which seems extraordinary.

    Best wishes,

    Jonathan

The answer you've been given doesn't sound correct to me. I recall it was difficult getting this across to support in the past as they didn't have Photoshop at that time and so had no real way of looking at attached profiles (and I have to say, limited understanding - although this was years ago). To say the colour profile is stripped out upon resizing is definitely incorrect.

    I did the following:

Sent myself a gallery invitation and downloaded one of the resized options. Opened the file in Photoshop which is set to warn me of incoming profiles differing from Abobe 1998 or of missing profiles. Received no warnings. Looked at the profile directly to confirm it was Abobe 1998 as expected. Repeated the test with a different gallery and selected a different size option.

Did the same with a Quick Send.

If you want to contact me via the contact for at tomparkes.com with your email address I'll send a gallery invitation to you for testing.

For anyone stumbling across this having faced similar problems, this has been confirmed by the PS team as a bug which strips out the color profile when sending out one of the preset jpeg sizes by any of the delivery methods - Quicksend, Lightbox download etc. Weirdly it seems to effect files that have been uploaded as jpegs after being processed using almost any version of Lightroom or Photoshop. I’m told it does not effect files uploaded as psd or tiffs or jpegs coming direct from camera or processed with other programs. Apparently it is also not universal so not everyone is effected. They have been working on a solution for a few months now and I’m told the fix will be live ‘very soon’.
