Right pixel size image to upload

    Hi Carlo

You shouldn't see any difference in image quality on the site between images of 2000 and 5000 pixels, and only a slight decrease for images of 1000 pixels (note that on the page http://www.photoshelter.com/mem/site/security you can set the maximum image display size - images uploaded larger than this will all be resized down so it won't affect display quality).

However if you are selling prints, then you need to ensure that the images are large enough to enable you to print at 300 dpi - so for a 12" x 8" print you would use an image of 3600 x 2400 pixels. For much larger print sizes you can get away with lower dpi values (as the prints would be viewed from further away) but with a long edge of 5000px you will be fine to print up to about 16"-20" at the longest edge with no quality issues.

    Hope this helps
