Has anyone who use PS as cloud backup found a good way of verifying that uploads are OK?
If you have a professional plan then you have unlimited storage with PS.
This makes it an excellent option to use it as online cloud backup for your own image archive, both for raw, tiff and jpeg, or whatever you use.
However, using it as a backup location the number of files and folders that you upload can become rather big. It is then very cumbersome and time-consuming to verify everything manually.
Say, I have "original archive" at home/in the office and I then upload it to PS as "cloud BU". I then want to verify that "cloud BU" actually is a correct copy of my "original archive".
It may also be so that some old files change in "original archive" and they should then also be changed in "cloud BU".
This would be easy to do if I could use a tool to compare my local "original archive" with the PS "cloud BU".
An alternative to a PS archive is to use Amazon Drive. Here it is very easy to do this verification and update.
I can connect my Amazon Drive archive to my local computer with e.g. a tool called ExpanDrive, and then the Amazon Drive looks like a local drive (I assign it to drive letter Z: ).
I can then use another tool to compare my local "original archive", that I have on a NAS, with the Amazon Drive on Z: . I use a very nice little sw called BeyondCompare to do that.
And very easily I can verify that my backup is a correct copy of my original archive.
I know of NO way to do that on Photoshelter.
Anyone has any idea how to? Anyone else use PS as cloud backup? How do you then verify that it is OK and keep it updated?
