You may change the sort order of your images, galleries, and collections at any time. Sorting your content can be useful for organizing and working with your Library, but it is particularly important for anything that's designated as Listed on Website, as the sort order you choose in your Image Browser is what's reflected to your website visitors.
Lumen's (the New Library UI) default sort order is Name A-Z. To adjust the sort order, click the the Sort option at the top of the center pane:
You can also reverse the order of your images, galleries or collections using the reverse sort arrows next to the Sort option.
Other Sort options include Date Created - Old to New and Date Modified - Old to New.
You can also choose to display Collections or Galleries first, depending on your preference. This change will be made to all galleries and collections in both Listed and Unlisted.
Custom Sort
Custom sort is a great option if you're looking to control the sequence of Collections, Galleries or files that your end-users see on the website. You cannot yet custom sort galleries and collections at the root level (Listed and Unlisted) in Lumen.
To custom sort a Collection or Gallery:
- Select a container (Collection or Gallery) in the Library tree
- Click the Sort option at the top of the right pane, then select Same as Website > Edit.
- Select a file by clicking it, then drag it into your preferred order. Save to update the custom sort.
You can also set your default preferences in the Settings Menu.
- In the black navigation on the left, click the Settings cog icon.
- Click Library
- Choose Sorting to save preferences for sort orders for files, search, and containers.
- Choose Thumbnails to save preferences for thumbnail displays in the Library.
